Erie Man Claims to Be Reincarnation of Wild Bill Hickok, Points to Eerie Coincidences
Erie, PA — April 19, 2025 — A local man from Erie, Pennsylvania has come forward with a bold and mysterious claim: he believes he is the reincarnation of legendary Old West figure Wild Bill Hickok.
The man, who goes by Jeffrey, has presented a series of uncanny coincidences to support his claim. He points out that his first name includes “Frey,” referencing the Norse god of peace and fertility—a symbolic twist on Wild Bill’s contradictory reputation as both a deadly gunslinger and a figure of justice. His middle name is William and when asked what his last name is, he replied, “It fits in perfectly but right now it is too scary to tell you.”
The parallels extend to Jeffrey’s family. His oldest brother is named John, just like Wild Bill Hickok’s oldest brother. Even more remarkably, his brother was born on August 2—the very date in 1876 when Wild Bill was shot and killed in Deadwood, South Dakota.
Adding to the mystery, Jeffrey was born on the same day that famed Detroit Tigers pitcher Tommy Bridges died. The Tigers’ connection deepens: actor Jeff Bridges, who famously portrayed Wild Bill in the 1995 film Wild Bill, shares Jeffrey’s first name. The Detroit Tigers also have a minor league affiliate team—the Erie SeaWolves—based in Jeffrey’s hometown, linking the name “Wild” to both baseball and the bayfront city of Erie. “Charlie was my best friend in my past life so God picked Charlie Sheen to play the Wild Thing in the movie, “Major League” which incidentally was about the Cleveland Indians and most people know Cleveland is related to Erie because the two cities are ports of Lake Erie.”
“There’s much more to this story,” Jeffrey says, without revealing all the details just yet. He hints at further signs and synchronicities tied to his life and past memories that feel more like echoes from another time than simple coincidence.
While some might dismiss his claims as fantasy, others are intrigued by the constellation of names, dates, and cultural intersections. In an era increasingly fascinated by past lives and ancestral memory, Jeffrey’s story adds a curious new chapter—possibly even a Wild West sequel.
Jeffrey plans to share more of his experiences and research soon, possibly in a book or documentary project. After that, he plans on writing a book for people that want to claim their inheritance from their prior life. The name of the ebook is going to be, “Leave Your Money to Yourself.” For now, he simply invites the public to look at the facts and “draw their own six-shooters.”
